ORMI Feedstock Increases Biogas Energy Production by More Than 200%
Woodbridge, Ontario - October 25, 2007. ORMI Chairman & CEO, Charles Buehler, announced yesterday at the Company's Annual General Meeting of the shareholders, that preliminary biogas production results have demonstrated that the addition of less than 15% (by volume) of ORMI's feedstock to the Klaesi anaerobic digester ("AD") has increased electricity production from 700 kWhrs per day to 2,400 kWhrs per day over manure alone.
These results were obtained from continuous operation of the Klaesi AD, the first and only Ontario AD to date permitted to receive off-farm feedstock. As previously announced, ORMI has an exclusive, 20-year contract to supply its organic feedstock to the Klaesi AD.
ORMI collects a variety of organic residuals from more than 5,000 foodservice and food industry customers in Ontario. It then processes and blends these residuals to create high energy organic feedstock for use in anaerobic digesters to increase the generation of biogas renewable energy over manure alone.
The Company also reports that at the Annual General Meeting the nominees to the board of directors were elected and that all resolutions including the special resolution to consolidate the common share of the Company were passed.
